Debbie has loved horses all of her life. She dreamed of them nightly. At school she would sit and draw out plans for her barn.
In the Summer of 1963 Debbie and her younger sister sold candy bars and saved up enough money to purchase "Fancy", a well-trained, American Saddlebred that needed a good home and to be fed better!
Debbie grew up reading and studying Professor Beery books and "Fancy" was trained just how Debbie had studied!
Debbie trained her first horse professionally when she was just 14 years old!
In 1967, Debbie recounts that one of her most memorable moments in her horse career was meeting Blanchard.
It was a breath of fresh air to have a relationship with someone that had the same dreams, passions, loves and desires as she did! Since that moment, Debbie says there are so many memorable moments in her life that they are too numerous to recount! But one special moment did stand out, when one of her students won TWO Silver Medals at the Special Olympics!
Debbie continued her education in riding instruction and horse training by attending shows and watching other professionals and learning what to do and what not to do. She took lessons herself from well - renowned instructors. In the early 90's she traveled to Ireland to study riding and jumping. She immersed herself in the study and discipline of Dressage as it is the basis of all good forms of riding and horsemanship. Through clinics and seminars put on by the United States Equestrian Federation and the United States Dressage Federation and reading books by proven, excellent horsemen and women she is a life long student of the Horse Industry.
